From the text i can imagine you being a person that would never accept to pay retard’s fee. In another words, you would always try to inform yourself. This probably holds true with, or without AI leverage. I fear that at this moment we can extrapolate this pattern to broader population - those who approached everything superficially would continue to do so, and those who had been high agency people will only elevate further their agency with use of AI.
So not sure if proliferation of AI chatbots will all of sudden make everyone resistant to retard’s fee.
you make a pretty good point here and i do think high agency ppl continue to be rewarded on an exponential scale as tech increases. it will be similar to the older generation continuing to go into stores and pay bills via printed paper while the youth just did everything online.
but my hope is that ppl are more ‘lazily’ able to close this gap in their own life, perhaps in the way that a google search has been ingrained in everyone’s lives a prompt search will be the gut-check that will better inform even low agency ppl.
you’re right in saying that these gaps will always exist and a percent of ppl will stay wilfully ignorant bc change is scary
As someone who does get paid for dispensing arcane (legal) knowledge, qualified agree. The qualification is that it is possible to convince yourself something outside your specialty is true when a specialist knows it’s not, and AI tends to exacerbate this.
Oh I love this one as it is just so true. Retard Tax, perfect phrase for this generation also. One thing I have learned over the decades is that it is important that you never feel afraid to question an 'expert' or get a second opinion. If you feel stupid doing so even more reason to find out as you clearly have no idea. In fact I greatly encourage both and it has proven time and again to be a prudent decision. Yes, I hope AI can eliminate the scams out there and help people. Certainly helps me every day to get answers to questions.
100% agree on your points and a couple of these I stumbled on myself after using Claude for 100s of hours. Can't wait to see all these retard tax businesses go extinct, especially financial advisors like this. Edward Jones was charging my parents 5% a year to make 1% and after my talk with them they are now on their second year of 50% gains on a portfolio I control with Claudes help in my automated research pipeline
