100% agree with this. Gambling used to be only on horses and you had to go out of your way to place a bet. I remember taking my kids to a football match over the loudspeaker they are encouraging you to open up a Sportsbet account and I knew that was the end. All that shit should be banned at any venue children are at and made it difficult to engage in.
Poker machines are the worst inventions ever, so many lives have been ruined by them. As for sport betting ads just don’t get me started. Why is there so much anger in the world? Not hard to guess. Also loneliness, which is very sad. I think your essay is spot on Jords.

Normal pubs stop serving drinks from around 12am-2am, at least in QLD.. but yeah you can stay and gamble your life savings till 5am. Absolutely nuts.
